Simple homemade almond milk that's creamier and tastier than store-bought plus is entirely customizable! No chemicals, nor gums, nor other additives with only 2 ingredients!
Ingredients
1 cup Raw organic almonds
5 cups Filtered water (less to thicken, more to thin)
A pinch of Himalayan salt
Optional: 2 tsp Vanilla/almond extract or 2 vanilla beans (omit for plain)
Optional: 2 tbsp Turmeric powder (for "golden milk")
Optional: 2 tbsp Cacao powder (for "chocolate milk")
Optional: 1/2 cup Berries (for "berry milk")
Steps
Soak almonds in filtered water covered in the fridge for 8-12 hrs or overnight. (Alternative: Soak almonds in very hot water for 1-2 hrs)
Drain & rinse almonds
Blend soaked almonds, filtered water, salt, and any optional add-ins on high speed in blender for 1-2 min
Strain milk using a nut milk bag into bowl (Save pulp for baking or discard pulp)
Transfer milk to a covered glass bottle and refrigerate (lasts 4-5 days)
Shake well before drinking.
